Article from the Horseshoe World
Winter Number 1943

"IS FINE CHAMPION"
Robert Courtwright, Kentucky champion,
is a great tosser, says a message from our
good friend E.M. "Flash" Merchant of Louisville.

**It is unknown if this implies that Robert "Cartwright"
simply retained his state championship from 1942 or if
a state class was held and he was the repeating champion.
It would appear that Cartwright was the 1943 Men's State
Champion since he was noted as "Kentucky Champion".
